Re: Heroes of Newerth? HoN is a pretty sweet game but for any first timers in that genre of game I would have a few suggestions.
-Play with friends whom are also new.
-Become very familiar with items and try every hero so you know what to expect.
-Don't be afraid to look at the plethora of guides listed for the game/heroes.
-If at all possible play Dota's AI maps to help your learning curve.
-Don't take Pubs seriously or your soul will be eaten.

I got called a feeder so many times, but in the end I saved the entire team by finding out what each player did. In the end, statements like "There is no way you should have one that match" were said.
I perfer LoL, to be honest (League of Legends). I like the expansion of the DoTA genre. I just hope that not many more come out. They have to run out of variations of the blade master soon enough.

Re: Heroes of Newerth? I have been playing HoN for a few months now. I played DoTA off and on over the years but I never would have considered myself a pro at the game. I enjoy HoN and I even pre-ordered the game but it does have a little ways to go before its ready for release.
